Online with Mugaku Roshi: Inside the Grass Hut - Part 2 (11 wks)
01/22/2019 - 04/02/2019

Summary

Join Michael Mugaku Zimmerman Roshi for Zen study and inquiry in an online class via the Zoom conference platform on Tuesday evenings, 6:30 - 7:45 pm MT. Part 2 of the series begins on January 22, 2019.

The Winter 2019 series continues a contemplative exploration of a key Soto (Caodong) text, the poem "Song of the Grass-Room Hermitage," also translated as "Song of the Grass Hut". This poem is the work of the 8th-century Chinese ancestor, Shitou Xiqian, who is also the author of the "Identity of Relative and Absolute" which we chant in every Morning Service.

The text for this course is Inside the Grass Hut: Living Shitou's Classic Zen Poem by Ben Connelly (Wisdom Publications, 2014).

Audio recordings of Part 1 classes (October - December 2018) are available.
Event Registration is closed.
